My interest in the health and wellness of individuals is longstanding. I earned my bachelors degree from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2000, with a major in Psychology, a minor in Biology and completion of the Pre-Med curriculum.
In pursuit of specialization in the area of child and adolescent mental health, I enrolled in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). I completed my diagnostic and therapy practica within urban, culturally diverse multidisciplinary settings, obtaining further knowledge and professional competencies in psychological assessment, testing, and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I also teamed closely with the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and foster care agencies to aid and advocate for children and adolescents exposed to trauma, abuse, and neglect.
I moved to Southern California for my predoctoral psychology internship, specializing further in the clinical treatment of children, adolescents, and families via triage, assessment, individual and group therapy, and psychological testing. After receiving my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from CSPP in 2006, I continued to work in California as an outpatient mental health clinician, providing individual and group therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and parents. Here, I also obtained advanced training in 0-5 Early Intervention and was an active participant with Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MAT), a collaborative program with DCFS and L.A. County Department of Mental Health for the prevention and treatment of child and adolescent mental illness.
Licensed in the State of Illinois in 2008, I returned to my hometown of Chicago. I maintain my passion and competencies in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Within private practice settings, I provide psychotherapy and psychological testing to support and assist individuals and their families.
I have had the privilege to work with children, adolescents, and adults on their psychosocial and personal growth within many types of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools, inpatient facilities, and nursing rehabilitation centers.
